In the Czech Kingdom, house numbering was introduced in 1770 and 1771. Until then, houses in towns were also marked, but with house signs. Beautiful historical house signs have been preserved in the historical parts of Prague until the present day. They come from the Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque periods.
