Kutna Hora city walks
Legend has it that in the centre of this royal city founded in the final decades of the 13th century, during the reign of Czech King Ottokar II, all houses grow deep into the ground with silver roots. Directly under the houses, beneath the labyrinth of narrow streets, are ancient tunnels where miners extracted rich deposits of silver ore. If Prague was the metropolis of Bohemia, Kutná Hora was its treasury.
